Here are some fun ways to add interesting flavors to your popcorn:
Curry Popcorn. Ingredients –
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup canola oil or grapeseed oil (or other high flashpoint oil)
- 2 teaspoons curry powder
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt, or to taste
- Fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
Maple Bacon Kettle Corn. Ingredients –
- 4 slices bacon, cooked, fat reserved
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2 cup corn kernels
- 1/4 cup cooking fat (use the reserved bacon fat and extra olive or vegetable oil to make 1/4 cup of popcorn cooking fat)
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons salt (depending on your taste)
Garlic and Parmesan Popcorn. Ingredients –
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt
Pizza Popcorn. Ingredients –
- 3quarts freshly popped corn
- 1⁄4–1⁄2cup butter, melted
- 1⁄2teaspoon dried oregano
- 1⁄2teaspoon dried basil
- 1⁄8teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
- 1⁄2teaspoon garlic salt
- 2tablespoonsparmesan cheese
Sweet and Spicy Chipotle Kettle Corn. Ingredients –
- 3 Tablespoons canola oil
- 1/4 cup of your favorite unpopped popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
- salt to taste
- ground chipotle pepper powder to taste
