Making the best gourmet popcorn in Florida is a family business. Our gourmet popcorn company started out as a simple family business, as a way for two brothers, John and Kevin, and their sister, Katherine, to learn solid work ethics and responsibility. As an add-on, they also learned about dollars and sense, encouraged by their mother Mrs. Kurgis’ insistence they make change for customers by using their heads, not calculators. Where is Katherine, now? She wholeheartedly supports her brothers in their business endeavors but is planning her new adventure, going off to college at Denison University in Ohio. Her brain is telling her to be a novelist, not a mathematician.
Mrs. Kurgis can be found helping her sons from behind the scenes, cooking up our gourmet kettle corn & popcorn. She is also the mastermind behind some of our perennial, customer favorites, such as our Chettle Mix and our Orange Cream with Dark Chocolate drizzles.
Each of our family members supports each other, because that is what puts the “family” in our family business and, ultimately, the “BEST” in our Best Popcorn Company name.

Batch-cooked and made fresh for every order, we pop our corn to perfection in the kettle. We only select large and crunchy, yet fluffy corn with minimal kernels for our luxurious caramel corn and Florida kettle corn.
